Couples & Relationships
Relationships are one of the most meaningful—and challenging—parts of being human. When communication breaks down, emotions run high, or life’s stressors start to spill into your partnership, it can feel like you’re fighting the same battles without resolution.
At Resilient Edge Therapy, couples therapy is about rebuilding connection, strengthening communication, and learning how to navigate conflict with empathy and respect. Whether you’re facing ongoing tension, recovering from betrayal, struggling with intimacy, or simply feeling distant from one another, therapy provides a structured and supportive space to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface.
My Approach with Couples
I approach couples therapy from a trauma-informed, systems-based, and sex-therapy-informed lens. That means I consider not only what’s happening between you—but also the individual experiences, histories, and external pressures that shape how you both show up in the relationship.
As a Sex Therapy Informed Professional, I help couples explore intimacy, desire, and communication in ways that are open, affirming, and respectful. We can talk about everything from rebuilding trust and emotional safety to navigating mismatched desire, the impact of trauma on intimacy, or reconnecting after major life changes.
You can expect a space where both partners feel heard, validated, and supported. We’ll work together to uncover underlying patterns, develop healthy communication tools, and learn strategies for repair and reconnection.
Common Concerns I Help Couples Address
Communication breakdowns and recurring conflict
Emotional disconnection or loss of intimacy
Mismatched sexual desire or arousal patterns
Healing after infidelity or breach of trust
Life transitions (such as deployment, relocation, parenting, or loss)
The impact of trauma, anxiety, or mental health on the relationship
Balancing independence and connection in long-term partnerships
What You Can Expect
Couples therapy isn’t about deciding who’s “right” or “wrong.” It’s about helping you understand your dynamics, increase empathy, and rebuild a foundation of trust and teamwork.
You’ll gain practical communication tools, learn to navigate conflict more effectively, and rediscover the connection that brought you together in the first place.
With honesty, curiosity, and the right support, your relationship can grow stronger—even in the face of stress, distance, or change.
